Reserve books are the required texts and readings on the course syllabi. There are a maximum 4 copies, one for Library Use Only and three for Overnight borrowing. Use the online catalog to discover if a required or recommended book is available in ebook format.
Reserve models that circulate Overnight are mostly skeletal models: skull, spines, disarticulated vertebrae, pelvis, extremities and the human brain.
With a few exceptions, no. Older editions may be available and the call number is the same as on the Reserve book, except for the year. Look up the title or author in the online catalog.
At the circulation desk, sign the reserve card for a specific copy of a reserved book or model, up to one week in advance. To reserve for weekend use, sign up as early as the the previous Friday. Materials borrowed on Friday are due Monday. Write your name and latest possible pickup time on the reserve card. If not picked by the time specified on the card, the reserved item will be released to others. If no time is specified, the item will be released at 12:30 pm. You cannot sign up two days in a row. However, if no one has signed up in advance, materials are available on a first come, first served basis.
Please pick up materials after 10:30 am. The materials borrowed the previous day are due by 10:00 am. This gives staff half an hour to make sure that everyone's reservations are ready.
