Learning Commons: Study Rooms - Using & Reserving

Information about services and resources
How do I reserve a study room?

Study Rooms S and T can be reserved for student-centered activities.  Faculty and staff can reserve a room if students will participate in the session.  This policy respects students' need for dedicated group study areas and meeting rooms.

Study Room T - Sign up sheets for the entire quarter are available at the circulation desk.  Maximum 2 hours. Minimum 4 people.  Arrive on time, as the room is released 10 minutes after start time. This largest study room has a wall-mounted flat-screen monitor and a projection screen.  Ask at the circulation desk for accessories: connecting cables for your device, remote controls, laptop, DVD player and projector.

Study Room S - Sign up sheets for the entire quarter are available at the circulation desk.  Maximum 2 hsours.  Minimum 4 people.  Arrive on time, as the room is released 10 minutes after start time.

Study Rooms O , P,  Q,  R - No reservations.  Available on first come, first served basis.

Study Room N - Any individual needing quiet study in a room with a window takes precedence.  No reservations.  This is the only study room lacking a whiteboard.

The study rooms are all full, so where can I go?

Individual quiet study - the Testing Center in 117H has cubicles with glass doors.  This is the quietest place available. Overlap examinations and other testing takes precedence.  Staff  who handles special test scheduling place a sign outside the door, and ideally is able to post a schedule a head of time.  The study carrels in the main room make focusing on your work easier but if any ambient noise will distract you, please consider using a headset.

Group study - Other than study tables throughout the main room, look in the Imaging Lab in 117I.  Classes are seldom held there, and you can arrange the tables to suit your group.
