EndNote Guide: Introduction

What is EndNote?

EndNote® is a software program used to manage bibliographic citations. You can retrieve references from bibliographic databases, import them into your own database, and create bibliographies in a variety of formats using a word processing program. You can also add references to a Word™ document and create a bibliography using a style of your choosing.

How do I get EndNote?

The Research Department adopted EndNote® as the preferred citation management system for Life West research projects.

Faculty:  Contact the Director of Research for more information about becoming an EndNote user.  The LCCW bookstore manager handles new licenses and upgrades for EndNote by purchasing keys to enable download.

Everyone:  Clarivate Analytics, publisher of EndNote, offers a free online product called EndNote Basic.  You can start with the free program and upgrade later to the desktop version without losing existing citations and attachments.
