EndNote Guide: Share References

Share a Library or Group with other EndNote users

Sending a compressed file is the safest method of sharing a Group or and entire Library.

  • The zipped files include the references and all attachments.
  • Recipient will see your entire group structure, but only the group you chose to share is populated.

Sharing  a Library for real-time collaboration may compromise the data.  There is no way to restrict to a single Group.  It is  "all or nothing" and includes the right to add, change and delete.

EndNote Online has a unique feature

  • Set access control for a group or a full library to 'read' or 'read and write'
Invited EndNote users can share citation records but not the attachments.
