On Campus: Our online resources are available to all library users on campus, including visitors. When off campus, only resources labeled Open Access (free) are available to everyone.
Off campus: Use of paid resources is available only to Life West students and faculty, and requires a login.
TIP After logging in at the proxy server, be sure to keep the initial window open to avoid having to login in again. You can then open other resources in a new tab, such as online databases, journals, ebooks, and multimedia resources.

Student logins to EZProxy are created by the library. The login information is given at orientation and a reminder appears on the EZProxy login screen.
Username: flastname (first initial, lastname - all lower case)
Password: 5-digit student ID number

What is EZProxy?
EZProxy service authorizes students and faculty to use e-resources from off campus. When using a subscribed resource off campus, a login screen automatically appears. After login, it acts as an intermediary IP address which is recognized by publishers. Almost all publishers use IP authentication rather than passwords to recognize a library's authorized users.
You must use the appropriate customized link given in these guides. When you open a specific database, journal article, or other resource when off campus, obviously any open-access (free) resources will not require login. If the resource is available only by subscription, the EZProxy login screen appears automatically. Caution: If you have independently navigated to the publisher's site, bypassing our customized links, you will probably encounter a "Please login" or "Pay per View" screen. Using our customized links and successfully logging in at EZProxy authorizes you to view materials just as if you were on campus
